Niagara on the Lake Culinary School offers a range of short duration
(1-3 day) Supervisory and Management training programs for busy
professional Chefs and Hospitality professionals who wish
to focus on specific skill development techniques. All of our
Instructors have a broad base of managerial experience coupled
with excellent instructional skills. We pride ourselves on delivering
dynamic and effective training programs that develop skills that
can be instantly applied to the real working world.
TRAIN THE TRAINER
Duration 3 days
The Train the Trainer program is designed for busy Managers and
Supervisors who are responsible for training and developing their
employees. The principle focus of the program is developing practical
and systematic techniques.
MANAGING EMPLOYEE PERFORMANCE
Duration 3 days
This program tackles the difficult area of managing employees
work performance with clear and practical approaches in relation
to 4 key areas: Employee Evaluation, Coaching, Performance Appraisal
and Positive Discipline. The primary focus of this module is on
the process and interpersonal skills and techniques needed to
provide objective and constructive feedback on individual performance.
Obtaining employee commitment to improving work performance and
attaining Objectives and Standards are seen as a critical part
of managing.
TIME MANAGEMENT
Duration 1 day
Time Management draws attention to one of the Supervisor
and Managers most valuable resource – Time. Participants
will learn a simple format of Listing tasks, Establishing priorities,
and working in a logical time effective manner Time Management
techniques takes participants through both the theoretical and
realistic application of Time Management in order to ensure that
you maximize the effective use of Time.
EMPLOYMENT INTERVIEWING SKILLS
Duration 2 days
Hiring the right candidate is a critical element of
the Hospitality Managers role. This program clearly identifies
the major components of the interviewing and selection process.
The major focus is on the considerations of hiring and the framework
and skills of interviewing. The importance of asking for specific
job related experience in behavioural terms in covered in detail;
Participants will also have the opportunity to apply these skills
in role-play with candidates while being filmed. The primary goal
of this program is to train participants how to select potential
employees based upon the application of objective criteria.
TEAM MANAGEMENT AND LEADERSHIP SKILLS
Duration 2 days
Participants will be given a range of practical
problems to solve as a group to understand, learn and apply leadership
behaviours and skills in a variety of situations. The program
covers Leadership Styles, Group Dynamics, Situational Leadership
& Decision Making and Team Building.
